My Story
I have recently joined Maia rehabilitation and am working with 2 new clients with a wide range of challenges. I previously worked as a Midwife at Bedford Hospital since qualifying at the University of Bedfordshire in 2022, and have studied Access to Health working with both paediatrics and adult clients.
I previously qualified in Government and Politics and studied Psychology at University of Leeds before going on to work in the exam department at Bedford College for 10 years. I left this role to care for my young daughter who has Autism; this motivated me to explore working with neurodivergent people within my work.
My greatest achievement to date is, my daughter who was previously non-verbal has now started school and does not stop talking. I work closely with EHCP’s and have a thorough knowledge of SEN Law.
Throughout my time in Midwifery, I provided 1:1 care whilst working as part of a large team of consultants and other healthcare professionals. The majority of my client base has always been those deemed high risk and with multiple complex care needs all requiring specialist care plans. I pride myself on my client -focused approach, supporting clients to achieve realistic goals and maintain comprehensive communication with those who have referred.
I have a special interest in working with people with learning difficulties and neurodiversity as this is close to my heart. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my 3 daughters and husband; eating out, socialising and going to the gym.
I accepts instructions from both claimant and defendant solicitors and work all over the UK. I am registered with the CMSUK and am governed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) / HCPC registered.
